oh man. I've got it bad for spring..and blush. though in my opinion, they are pretty much the same thing. looking through my pinboard this week, it really struck me how out of control this fixation, nay, this infatuation is. of course, there were other colors littered throughout. but this rosy hue dominated and really catches springtime in the essence. so well, in fact, keeping it to myself just seems wrong. so take a gander at what I pinned this week.
001 :: candice swanepoel. though not pale pink, is always pretty much walking the line of perfection. and seeing her here just confirms that theory. her hair, her eyebrows, her contouring, her flawlessly lined eyes. being naturally gorgeous doesn't hurt, either. it makes me want to march into the nearest sephora and charge them with the task of trying to make me look like her. as if that would ever be possible.
002 :: flower crowns. I feel like everyone is obsessing over these and I hate to conform, but I have to make an exception. they are excellence. I always felt like I needed a crown and maybe one made of peonies is really more my speed than one made out of diamonds. at least for now :)
003 :: messy buns. there are days when the curling iron just moves through your hair effortlessly and then there are days when it doesn't really have time for a wash, you're late to work, or you can barely rake a brush through it. this hairstyle is for those days. and usually, I think we tend to have more of these anyway.
004 :: a pink faux leather backpack { find it at topshop via nordstrom}. kate moss has really outdone herself with this one. it's girly and utilitarian which, for me, is the ideal blend. plus, I love all the outside pockets and how sleek it looks. I'll just go ahead and move that baby into my shopping cart...
005 :: vintage 70s weekender bag. this bag is one-of-a-kind. seriously..sadly, it was an ebay find whose bidding has ended. however, you can find similar here and here and here. that's the beauty of something one-of-a-kind.. everyone wants to be just like them. and you can quote me on that.
006 :: the tulle ballerina midi skirt. so feminine and eye-catching. of course, it would be cuter in pale pink, but I think the violet holds its own. you can find similar at topshop via nordstrom. or if you're feeling brave, you can create your own diy version here.
007 :: the white jean with heels. I didn't realize how crazed I was for this trend until I visited the 'explore interests' tab on pinterest's drop down menu { if you have hours to kill, check this out }. and there it was. right in my face, bright and bold as day. so I sought out searching for my own. my go to brands for denim are 7s and hudsons. though I like this more affordable version at asos as well { they're on sale! }.
008 :: grouped candles. I love having beautiful scents wafting through the house. it's a simple luxury that really adds value to a space. the packaging on these candles is almost as lovely as the smells within. the ocd in me loves that they all match. on my candle hunt I found some here and here and here and here and here. look there :: you've got options.
009 :: floor to ceiling window treatments.. in pale pink obviously. they look so ethereal and lengthen the wall just right. sure to make a space majestic and soft and inviting. I also love that she used a curved shower rod to float them. west elm has similar treatments here. and you can pick up the curved shower rod at target. where else?
010 :: french hand milled soaps. pleasing to the skin and easy on the eyes. the french script adds a certain authenticity and these little blocks won't break the bank. though may I suggest you order a bunch at a time so as to save on s&h? you can find them directly from savon de marseille { original and fresh flowers }. or on amazon. in the spirit of our pale pink theme, might I implore you to check out the rose scent?
so om, I've got a little more for you if that's okay. I just couldn't resist these little guys and although they are not pink, they are adorable. wouldn't you agree?
001 :: blue-striped breakfast set. as crockery goes, this set is ideal. I love that the marmalade jar denotes 'preserves' and am giddy for the shape of the spout on that teapot. it really is all about the spout. and nobody does breakfast and teapots better than the brits. head on over to tg green to check it out. they have it in red, too!
002 ::these rain drop { cocoa } mugs. I can just envision myself snuggling up on a rainy day with a captivating book and this mug filled with something hot and sweet. you can find it on etsy.
other un-pinnable things I'm loving this week are ::
rereading all of my jane austen favorites.
watching and listening to the waves crash against the cliffs at night.
becoming better acquainted with my digital slr { if you know any great tips, please share! }.
keep your chin up! you're more than halfway to the weekend!
love, arielle
