AFTER BLOCK PARTY || PART II

I can hardly believe another block has come and gone! it went by so fast that I didn't even mention it via blogosphere. truthfully, I'm a little relieved. blocks are a little hard on everyone around here--especially mitch. after blocks were all said and done, I took a very tired mitch to dinner at "the best seafood restaurant on the island" (skip jacks, for those who live on the island). although, I also noticed they are just about the only seafood restaurant on the island. that's one way to get to the top..supply and demand. however, the view was breathtaking, the food was superb (is it weird, that I love using this word only when talking about food?), and I loved the nautical vibe the fixtures were giving off. I would have attempted more pictures, but I detest that flashy look and the sun had already gone home for the evening. I had the fish and chips, which were excellent, and mitch had ribs. so obviously not seafood, but very filling--always his end-goal. we were so tempted to get lobster, but I sort of bonded with them before we were even seated and I couldn't really imagine picking one and turning it into supper. I've seen that scene in the little mermaid one too many times, I guess. you know the one--sabastian running for dear life away from the manic chef. for this reason, and a few others, I wanted to rescue them all. mitch had to remind me it was a restaurant and a business and not a lobster farm.

anyway, today is the day I leave for canada. I should really plan these trips a little better--like maybe before blocks? it's so hard to leave the mister in general, let alone when he has only minimal amounts of schoolwork to do and way more time to relax with me. but I am really looking forward to the forecasted rain and cooler nights canada has to offer.

hope your weeks have started off just right. ours certainly has. it's always wonderful when you can't really tell when the weekend has stopped and the week has begun, don't you agree? when I talk to you next, I'll be up in the great white north. until then.

love, arielle
