PINS + UPDATES || SIMPLE JEWELRY

{ as usual :: left to right, top to bottom }
it's probable that the most beautiful things in this world are at least a little understated. there is just something so sweet and simple about a dainty, maybe even sentimental, necklace or bracelet or ring that whispers beauty and class in a wonderfully understated way. don't get me wrong--I love an oversized statement piece of jewelry as well as the next girl. but lately, I've been trying to simplify. and my jewelry is no exception. that's what I've been obsessing over this week, so I thought I would share it with all of you.

001 :: layering pendants and medallions just looks so nonchalant. especially with a comfy button-down. it's a new kind of simple that says, "hey, I didn't have time to sift through my collection and choose, so I'll just wear all of it." you can find similar here and here.

002 :: maybe a handchain isn't the simplest form of jewelry altogether, but the bracelet and rings individually are so airy and delightful. you can find similar here.

003 :: for me especially, I tend to gravitate toward the sentimental jewelry over that of the costume variety. these coordinates bangles maybe infuse a little bit of both. please don't misunderstand. they are still effortless as can be and would go with just about everything. but they are definitely more noticeable than that friendship bracelet you might have been wearing for years. these alex&ani bangles are equally as wishlistable.

004 :: roman numerals always strike me as elegant. like relics from a classier, more educated time. and they totally are. and a simple gold plate with your wedding date engraved in roman numerals is both classy and elegant. and maybe you can just fool everyone into thinking you know all of those fancy numbers by heart. unless you actually do. in which case, I'm impressed. find it on etsy.

005 :: another layering piece(s). this was another etsy find. it communicates to others that you've got it all figured out. almost like you took the time to match all of those pretty pieces when really, they matched themselves because they're secretly connected (shhh).

006 :: okay okay. I just couldn't resist. that giraffe with his circus hat is just adorable. I think of this necklace for one of those more playful activities. but maybe some of you are a touch more bold and would wear it to brunch? the original creator of this gem is anthropologie and of course, they are all sold out. but I found a how to for a diy version here. if you're into that sort of thing.

007 :: as I've grown, I've noticed friends get married and have babies and then they get really cute initials necklaces representing those babies. I'd like to think this is the one I would choose. I love how simple it is by itself or I could layer it like in photo 001&005. or you could get your own initial, too. makes it a little versatile.

008 :: there are days you want to put all you've got into feeling girly and put-together and then there are days you just feel like your make-up is too heavy and ballet flats are your only vehicle. this necklace is for the latter. easy, goes with everything, and still a little charming. you can find similar here
