my oh my, this week is sort of getting away from me. so often, I feel restless. like I couldn't find enough to do if I was the ceo of some big fancy company. but lately, just living my ho-hum everyday life is a little overwhelming. and this has sort of spun my beauty routine into chaos. confession :: I don't think I've really gotten ready one day this week. though, I have put it on my to-do list, so hopefully I'll get around to it before friday. I promise, one day I'm going to have it all together and you guys are going to be so proud. luckily, I've got some time to figure it all out. speaking of beauty routines, here are some primped out beauty trends that I am really loving lately. ones I attempt to recreate when I finally get around to putting myself together.
001 :: the coral lip :: red may be classy, but coral is its funner first cousin. I love this coral lip for so many reasons. one of which is that it sort of throws you off guard. where you would be expecting red, it surprises you by giving you this reddish-orange instead, and I have to say, I'm really loving the results.
products I love ::
002 :: glow :: contouring is something we've probably all heard about in recent years and having jumped on that bandwagon, I can attest to it making my cheekbones look sharper and my nose look straighter. here, candice swanepoel is all aglow and perfectly contoured using an orangey-er contour than most grey-brown suggestions.
base :: cover fx n50
highlighter :: cover fx n20
contour color :: cover fx g70
eye shadow :: bobbi brown sand eye palette
lips :: nars bangkok
003 :: the nude lip :: coral is nice when you're feeling dressy, but an everyday lip is usually more subtle. the nude lip, with hints of pink rather than tan, is a purse staple, as far as I'm concerned.
products I love ::
004 :: tie it up :: there is just something so romantic about tying up those tresses with a simple ribbon rather than the ever-typical hair elastic. it makes a humdrum hairstyle look feminine and well put-together. I find that one yard does the trick.
005 :: bead me :: I am definitely not brave enough to dread my locks. like not even close. but occasionally, when I am feeling dauntless, there is a part of me that loves a fews knots in my hair and dreadlocks start looking pretty appealing. so I guess bedazzling my hair would be the next best thing. preferably with knotted-locks that I could maybe brush out afterwards?

006 :: brigitte bardot hair :: I feel like brigitte sort of led the messy hair movement and I strive to recreate her style everyday. though, I can only ever come close.
